Wout van Aert beat four-time Tour de France champion Tadej Pogacar in a thrilling sprint finish to win the Paris-Roubaix title. Van Aert and Pogacar entered the famous Roubaix Velodrome together after breaking away from other contenders with about 50km of the 260km race remaining, before the Belgian unleashed a stinging attack an exhausted Pogacar could not respond to.

Belgian rider Wout van Aert beat cycling great Tadej Pogačar in a dramatic sprint to the line to win the prestigious Paris-Roubaix one-day classic for the first time on Sunday. Van Aert had the better sprint credentials and timed his attack perfectly to surge past Pogačar on the right and hold him off. “Beating him mano a mano in a sprint is really special to me,” Van Aert said.
