Sergio Garcia responds directly to rumours that LIV Golf could end

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) is reportedly close to ending its support for LIV Golf, which could struggle to survive if that is the case. But LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil has since confirmed to players that the 2026 season will continue without interruption.
That starts in Mexico this week, where Fireballs GC captain Garcia has now addressed the rumours of significant issues for LIV Golf moving forward. Sergio Garcia addresses LIV Golf shutdown rumours When asked in his pre-tournament press conference if he had any information to share on the matter, Garcia said in Spanish: “No, honestly, we haven’t heard anything other than what Yasir (Al-Rumayyan, LIV Golf Chairman) told us at the beginning of the year. “That he’s behind us, that they have a long-term project.
“And well, honestly, you know how these rumours are. “There are always a lot of them. “And I can’t tell you anything more than what we already know.

The Spaniard is one of the LIV Golf stars who is playing for the first time since The Masters, which concluded at Augusta National on Sunday. He was one of five LIV Golf players to make the cut, but Garcia was heavily criticized by fans after completely losing his temper during his final round.
The former champion went on to finish 52nd of 54 players to play the weekend, and has now been asked if the team format of LIV Golf makes him approach the game more positively. “Well, obviously when you’re surrounded by your teammates and friends, you always feel a little bit better, right? ” he said.
