Ostrowski Keeps UH Swimming Striped with a Second Straight Record Set
UH’s Karol Ostrowski sets a second consecutive school record with an impressive time of 42.08 in the 100-meter freestyle at the NCAA Championships.
The University of Hawaii (UH) swim team continued its dominance at the NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday in Atlanta, as Karol Ostrowski set another school record. Ostrowski, a senior from Poland, finished the 100-meter freestyle in an impressive time of 42. 08, placing him 30th out of 67 competitors in the preliminaries.
The previous mark was 42. 26, held by Finn Brophy. Ostrowski’s performance not only surpassed his own record but also solidified his place as a key player on UH’s swimming team.
On Friday, he had already set another school record in the 100 backstroke with an impressive time of 45. 96, showcasing his versatility and skill as a swimmer. The victory at Atlanta was capped by Hawaii improving to 16-14, 8-4 Big West standings while Cal State Northridge fell to 9-19, 5-7 following their loss in the doubleheader against CSUN on Saturday.
